Gail Ercoli graduated from Marywood College with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has her teaching certification in the state of Pennsylvania. Gail taught elementary school for the Valley View School District, the University of Scranton Campus School
and The Hebrew Day School.
She did graduate work in dance at American University in Washington. Gail is trained in jazz, ballet, modern, tap, ballroom, latin and swing dancing. Gail studied jazz, tap and ballet locally
with Constance Reynolds, Alexi Ramov, and Jimmy Sutton. While at
American University, she studied with the Jose Limon, Murray Louis and
Erick Hawkins Dance Companies and the American Dance Machine. She
studied ballroom locally with Vince Brust. She then studied swing
dancing in New York with Nathalie Gomes, world swing dance champion.
Recently, Gail did extensive training in ballroom and latin dancing at
Dance With Me Studio in New Jersey, which is the home studio of Maksim
Chmerkovskiy. Her instructors in addition to Maks were Russ Wilder and Karen and Matt Hauer.
She opened the Gail Ercoli Dance Studio in 1976. Since that time
she has trained over 20 professional dancers, teachers and
choreographers. Her former students have performed on national
television in music videos, commercials, soap operas and specials.
They have performed in California, Vegas, Reno, Philadelphia, New York, Europe and
Japan and in the national tours of the Broadway shows Cats, Singin' in
the Rain, A Chorus Line, and Starlight Express. Fred Tallaksen, a
former student, has been nominated for two choreography Emmys and
choreographed a music video for Madonna.
Gail has worked extensively as a dance teacher and choreographer in
the Northeast. Ms. Ercoli has done choreography for Valley View, North
Pocono and Western Wayne High Schools, the University of Scranton, the
Woodlands Inn and Resort, Scranton Public Theater and Infinity Dance
Company in New York. She is currently the ballroom instructor at the
Caesars Resorts in the Poconos.
